Acupuncture
Dr. Andrew treats his patients by inserting fine sterile needles into acupuncture points that lie on 'meridians', which are pathways of Qi flowing throughout the body. He carefully choose points to disperse blockages and to bring a patient's Qi into balance. The more this balance is achieved, the healthier the patient becomes.
Herbal Medicine
The essence of Traditional Herbal Medicine is in the art of adapting a formula to a particular patient's disharmony. After dianosing the patient's disharmony and deciding on a strategy of treatment, an appropriate formula is prescribed. Dr. Andrew takes into account many different factors such as the constitution of the patient, the state of digestive system, emotional state, and the harmonization of herbs.
Cupping therapy
The cupping therapy has been used for thousands of years. In the early days the technique was used solely for bleeding purposes. These days, there are distinguished two forms of cupping, Dry and Wet. In Dry cupping no blood is actually removed from the body. In Wet cupping the process begins with several incision being made in the skin and followed by dry cupping, in order to collect blood.
Gua Sha
Gua Sha is a scraping technique on the skin. This creates the distinctive red or purple bruises, known as sha. Dr. Andrew will apply oil to the area of the body that is being treated, which allows him to move the tool across the skin more smoothly.
Gua sha is most often used to relieve muscle and joint pain. It also helps with symptoms and prevention of the common cold, flu, asthma, and acute and chronic pain.
Trigger Point therapy
Trigger point therapy is a localized dry-needling technique used to release taut bands in muscles and relieve pain. Releasing a trigger point can decrease muscular tension and increase range of motion.
